Why haven't any of you mentioned McD's junior chickens?? Same price, equally delicious. get a dozen of these and you're good for lunch.

The majority of you guys are going to be overweight when you get older if you continue eating this shit. Even eating it a couple times a month could do it. Assuming an otherwise perfectly balanced calorie intake....

(500 extra calories/visit) x (2 visits/month) x (12 months/year) = 12000 cal/year
(12000 cal/year) x (20 years) x (1/3500 lb/cal) = 68 lbs

And a lot of the "table service" chain restaurants are even worse. Some are so terrible that it is possible to gain 1/2 lb by just eating there only ONCE vs. if you had ate something sensible at home.

Yeah, fast food is absolutely horrendous.

Not even so much as what you are doing to your physical appearance.....do you guys comprehend the kind of damage your doing to the inside of your body? It's a shame that some people really don't care at ALL what their doing to themselves.

It's a pity that 2 out of 3 Americans are overweight or obese. Actually, on second though, it's quite repulsive.

ALSO, 1 out of 8 deaths in America are caused by overweight/obesity. You guys seriously need to do yourself a favor and think just a little bit more about your dietary choices.

(those statistics were taken in 2003, I wouldn't be a bit suprised if they were way higher now)

you guys make alot of sense. put it bluntly like that i havent really pondered about the results that way.

im going to make strides to try to rid of the junk food hopefully completely. maybe relegate it to the once in a blue moon sort of thing like once every couple of months. heck, that is progress for me if that happens.

There is a "table service" burger chain in my area called Red Robin. I'm not sure if its nationwide in the US, but I believe it exists in many states. If you haven't heard of it, then think of Chili's since the food and price are very similar-- $10 burger and fries, family eating area, bar area, typical glossy & safe chain restaurant atmosphere, and very mediocre food. About a year ago this chain released their calorie counts for the first time and it is shocking! An example meal.... 1/2 of Onion Ring Starter = 1837 cal * 0.5 = 918 cal Guniness Beer = 170 cal Whiskey River BBQ Burger with fries = 1129 cal Mudd Pie Desert = 1390 cal TOTAL = 3607 cal = 1.03 lbs fat When I was in college I would often eat meals similar to the above at this restaurant, and I recall seeing many other customers doing the same. Even treating yourself to a few meals like this a year could lead to gradual weight gain over the next 10 to 20 years if you're not careful! So I would suggest NEVER eating at these places. I'm now 40 years old and weigh the same that I did when I was in my mid 20's, about 5'10" 140 lbs. Yet most others I know whom are my age are about 30 to 40 lbs heaver today than they used to be in college (and a few are far heaver than that!). They now have this "portly" middle-aged look to them that is really unflattering. Naturally they all eat at places like Red Robin or Chilis once a month or more and think nothing is wrong with that since it's just an "occasional treat". The food at these places tastes shitty anyway. Why would you want to risk your health and become fat enjoying something so gross?

+10 I am starting to see people my age having heart attacks and having to even have surgery due to clogged arteries. Most of the time they are fat or regularly eat terrible greasy food. This should not be happening at this age, if ever! My parents are in their 70's and have never had clogged arteries or had to be hospitalized for anything. One unusual thing about them is they almost NEVER eat out and only eat healthy meals cooked from scratch at home. They look and act younger than 95% of the people their age.

^What I consider moderate might be different than what you do. Not just about food, but drugs, sex, alcohol, etc.

I NEVER eat out. Costs more, loaded with salt, loaded with fat....just not logical. I cook ALL my meals EVERY day. With proper time management almost anybody can.

Yep, and when I'm eating foie gras or glazed porkbelly at least once a month, an In-N-Out burger is nothing. Plus, who the hell wants to live to 70 anyway?

Living til 70 is good and all. But living til 70 without eating foie gras or glazed porkbelly, my friend, is not a life I want.

Wait, so only 1 out of 8 people die from obesity? Damn, I was hoping it was higher so there wouldn't be as many fatties running around eating all of the food. Plus, who likes DUFF's anyways?
