Message from Sysdoc - Page 3

I'd love to see the look on the judge's face when he reads the complaint: "Defendant did refuse to remove an article, written by the plaintiff, on the subject of achieving the perfect mirror shine on shoes on his internet forum. Defendant also refused to remove photos of plaintiffs shoes, otherwise known as 'shoe porn' from the same."

That would be funny.

My first inclination is to look beyond the actual action. Why does Sysdoc want this info removed? I suspect because he's upset at the way the Vass affair went and maybe he doesn't think he contributions have been recognized sufficiently. You may agree or disagree, but its certainly a position to have.

It's his contribution, so I think the request is reasonable, but am surprised that someone who knows as much about computers as he does would make such a request, knowing that Google and others have captured the guide for posterity.

I think he has been an above average member here and hope he continues to post and read.

Just did a quick Lexis search and could not find any federal or states cases corresponding to the seach term "shoe w/1 pornography" or "shoe w/2 pornography" or the equivalents. We could be setting precedent.

Fitting that you continue your vendetta in a thread dedicated to self indulgent and very public ego masturbation.

Take this elsewhere.

Briiian13 likewise posted a very comprehensive mirror shine guide, which I think he is more than willing to share if due credit is given.

No, you were not. I agree the posts were informative, but the attitude was grating. I think the "I'm taking my ball and going home and my dad can beat up your dad" message he sent to j regarding this entire issue exemplifies that attitude rather nicely.

I'm a lawyer, but intellectual property is not my specialty, so I'm not sure exactly what language you would need to draft to avoid this problem in the future. I think there is something over in the "rules" post on AA about this, so you may want to look there. I'm reminded of a line from a sitcom I heard once: "Posting something on the internet is like peeing in a pool. Once it's out, there's no way to put it back."

BTW, j, if you find anything "intellectual" in any of my postings here, you're welcome to it.

Maybe "shoe or shoo w/2 porn!" would have worked. You never know, the cases might refer to it as "shoe pornography" "shoe porno" or just "shoe porn".

Please allow me to explain the situation: First of all, J broke a holy Internet rule, which is posting a private message on an open forum. I had posted this message here had I wanted it to become public. In short - you simply don't do that. It's dishonorable. Second, I don't mind anyone in this forum (and that even includes my personal friend "Teacher") to benefit from or enjoy my former postings, write-ups, pictures. It actually honors me if you consider the stuff worth your while. You are all most welcome, even those who hate me. HOWEVER, I do not want that THIS FORUM continues to benefit from my work. The forum is an institution and I have my issues with this institution - they may be whatever, it's nobody's business. I simply cannot understand how any institution would display open hostility against me, while it actually still displays stuff that I have created. This, also, is at least dishonorable. I do not claim that I have discovered the secret of mirror shining. What a load of bollocks! Our great grandfathers new it better than I do. However, I sat down and did a little work of love for other individuals to MAYBE benefit from it. J is a coward for going public with my message. He is a fake for not being straight forward enough to accept that a person who has given to his forum is well allowed to take his ball and go home in dignity, to pick up a phrase from Tiger02. We all are making this forum what it is. J benefits from that in one way or another - and I am not saying financially, at least not yet. The least thing he should provide in return is giving people the freedom to pack up and leave in peace.

Let me just quote this for posterity. Truly mature.

I posted your message because I didn't want any question of your being misquoted, and because I can't be arsed to go through and figure out which posts contain your content. There was no other way.

Hahaha, this is too funny. I just actually did a search on Lexis for "shoe /2 porn!" and found one case:

"(c) Phillips challenges the admission of testimony that certain items were found hidden in his room, specifically, two undergarments belonging to the homeowner, a pair of women's shoes, and pornographic magazines. First, we note that it is not clear whether Simpson v. State "prohibits oral testimony regarding a defendant's possession of pornographic materials, as opposed to admission of the materials themselves." (Citations omitted.) Burk v. State, 253 Ga. App. 272, 273 (1) (558 SE2d 726) (2001). As to the testimony concerning the undergarments and shoes, we agree that those items were not linked to the crimes charged. See Frazier v. State, 241 Ga. App. at 126 (1). As to testimony concerning the magazines, because we have held the magazines themselves were inadmissible, with the exception of State's Exhibit 18, testimony regarding the discovery of the magazines was, at best, irrelevant. See Division 5 (b), supra."

You are entirely right that you can, at any time, decide you don't want to participate in a public forum and leave, you can't however take your past contributions with you, they're out in public space and will remain that way. Maybe if you had politely asked J to do it out of fairness, using arguments you've developed in this post he could have agreed but as we both know that wasn't the case. Now frankly if I were you, I would just:
1)Decide that posting and exchanging with people on this forum is worth more to me than my pride and ask to be re-integrated, letting time do it's work. (highly unlikely, if you need help just watch the 7 samurai scene where Kimura shaves his topknot to pass as a monk, works like a charm if you get the cultural signifiers )
2)Leave and never look back, as this would only leasd to anger and humiliation (a lot more likely).

What a sad turn of events. Sysdoc, we appreciated your content and many of us liked you but this is just...I don't know. Ungentlemanly? Maybe. Well, hope to hear from you soon at some point under better circumstances. Antio... P.s. people, feel free to use any of my content. Heaven know it is not worth anything. Well, other than the pictures of Chloe. She is a temperamental little bird but thankfully she has not yet hired her own legal team to demand more focused shoulder time and larger amount of Nutriberries per day Anyway, in all seriousness, I think it is time for us to now move on. Maybe this thread needs to be locked, I don't know. Edit: Fuuma has some good points, I agree. I believe a lot of people here are of a gentlemanly sort (except for some ruffians of course ) and would not mind letting bygones be bygones.
