Lightweight dry denim for the summer

I am considering purchasing another pair of dry denim jeans for the warmer months. What is considered light? I already have a pair of APCs The Uniqlo cotton/linen jeans also looked ideal for the heat.

Thin Finn is 11oz, which is fairly light. Well, depending on what you think is light. The guy with the H&M &denim jeans in the stickied 'Post pics of you denim' thread said those were light. Cheap too.

imo, the best/neato-est lightweight jean is the white tag Levis 1929 201xx repro. 9oz denim with an awesome greencast-ish shade to it. Blueline selvedge, buckleback and a loose fit. Great for looking stylin in summer.

I would consider any jean around 11 oz ideal for summer. Of course, unless you're looking for dark denim, denim that's too lightweight will not hold up to time as well.

I would recommend a pair I saw at Stephen Alan by Edun. It was raw, light, and well priced around $135.00. Sorry that I can't remember the name.

Jean Shop also has a summer weight selvege model. At around $240 this offering gets a big thumbs down.

I'm wearing some light Earnest Sewns in Asia this summer. They're definitely cooler than the others in the rotation, and the detailing is pretty nice. The denim isn't the best quality, though, and it bleeds like crazy unless/until a soak washes the excess indigo off.

Wait, aren't Samurai (and others) considered some of the best jeans out there, despite crazy amounts of bleeding?

The denim quality of ES jeans isn't top notch, bleeding or no. It's not terrible by any means.

This sounds perfect to me. Where do I get one, how much does it cost? I tried to do a search but didn't turn up much.

Kent, I've seen them on aeroleather UK site, haven't been there in a while so I don't know if they still have it. They haven't been made since the 90s (i think) so if you find a new pair it'll be deadstock. They pop up on ebay so that's prolly the best place to get em. I'm not sure exactly what they'd cost in US as I got my pair for free about 3 years ago, but I'd imagine a new pair would sell for $2-250 on ebay these days. btw, if you do find a pair, the denim is STF so size up 1 or 2.

They're not the dry model, and I think they're hideous, and they're expensive, and blah blah... http://tinyurl.com/ebxm7
