I've only ever heard In The Court of the Crimson King but that album is fucking epic. Are any of their other albums as good?

My god, how old is that album? My older brother had it. I was a wee nipper and the cover disturbed me.

Great album. Red is also great, but pales in comparison to In the Court of the Crimson King. Awesome album cover, too. Been trying to cop it on vinyl for ages.

Great. I love early Genesis (Nursery Cryme) and Popul Vuh too, give them a whirl.

All of them King Crimson was the true avant-garde experimental band, the critics pigeon-holed them as "prog-rock" but they were much more than that, a band of young and talented musicians with a background of classical, middle-age, free-jazz, hard rock music. They made music on the 60's and 70's whose influence that still today you can hear on some "innovative" jazz and rock musicians Music that would reflect intense human emotions and moods. But unlikely the usual "sad", "happy", "in-love" or "anger" emotions of pop music, they also explored paranoia, schizofrenia, desperation, deep frustration, high spirituality, etc etc. In addition to "In the Court of the Crimson King" you should get "Lizard", "Larks' Tongues in Aspic", "Red", "Discipline", "Vroom" etc And also Robert Fripp's solo work and his collaborations with Brian Eno.

Both "Larks' Tongues..." and "Starless and Bible Black" are great. The live box set, "The Great Deceiver", from this era is also worth checking out.
Another excellent cover:

Only familiar w/ ITCOTCK, but have always admired Fripp's work on DB's Scary Monsters....

A great band with highly distinctive periods.

Period #1: Fripp, Greg Lake, etc. was off-wall-sh*t. ITCOTCK is massive.

Period #2: Wetton, Bruford, etc. is my personal favorite. Lark's Tounge, Red are epic and bridge the gap between prog and bands like NIN.

Period #3: Belew, Levin, etc. is unclassifiable. Nothing before or after has sounded like them. Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair were the soundtrack to my college days. I saw the band perform 10+ times in about a 6 year period and was blown away every time.

In all, one the greatest and most underappreciated bands ever.

I bought a coke of someone recently who told me I looked like Robert Fripp, and asked me if I was his son.

He then proceeded to ask me to join his band.

I didn't know whether to be happy or destroyed.

KC is awesome, but they've done some great hits and some great misses. In The Court of the Crimson King is a classic, shortly followed by Red and Lark's Tongue In Aspic, Discipline is good but I think it's a bit vocal burdened and lacking the creativity of the other albums.
