What to wear to a wine and cheese reception - Page 3

I routinely attend wine and cheese parties hosted by local businesses for networking purposes and the typical attire is a suit and tie, or a sportcoat. Its in princeton so there are always an odd turtle neck + elbow patch sportcoat.

In academia, in Boca no less i would assume that you could get away with a linen sportcoat or simply a sweater.

I can field this one, my law school holds them all the time - wear a conservative suit. Tie recommended.

I did a search beforehand... could not find anything. And frankly, I don't like being under or over dressed, I like to be just right.
