Hardcover or paperback? - Page 2

For reading on the subway and during the commute, I prefer paperbacks. Hardcovers are nice to handle, but they are a bit pricey usually so I usually go with whatever is cheaper.

Side question: Where do most of you buy/sell your books? I am going to start selling some of them back to Strand, which is where I buy most of my books anyways. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

I buy almost everything on Amazon (I look up the book and then buy used from one of the Amazon sellers), abebooks.com or alibris.com

paperbacks don't lend themselves to reading the book over and over and over; they lose their shape... pages fall out, they are okay for casual reading and entertainment... but if its a reference book, or something you really enjoy reading you owe it to yourself to spend a little extra on the hardcover.

I greatly prefer hard covers, but I'll buy a paper back if it is significantly cheaper and the books isn't on one of my favorite subjects.
Betterworldbooks is a great place to get books, very low prices and free shipping with- in the U.S.
