Grapples (Grape Flavoured Apples) - Has anyone else fallen for this one?

I recall seeing someone mention these on TV somewhere and saw them in the grocery store. Their claim is "Looks like an apple... tastes like a grape!" I thought they had genetically modified an apple to taste like a grape and spent $5 on a 4-pack. After trying one, I realized they let the apple soak in grape juice overnight, but pretty much only the peel is vaguely grapish in scent, otherwise it's just a regular apple.

I'm a sucker for trying new friuts whenever I see them. Unfortunatly, I tried these shitty things. Yuchhhhh. Tastes like bad cough syrup.

interesting taste but the texture of the apple is atrocious.

Agreed. I'm also super-pissed we don't have flying cars yet.

(But seriously, I want science to make things awesome and it's not happening fast enough.)

Saw, said WTF? Read the label and dropped the package in horror.

I know. Same with maracschinos (I won't allow myself to say cherries in this context). Sad, isn't it?

I heard this is how SoCal lured randallr in. "Looks like a cock... tastes like a vagina!" Ahh, the old vagina-flavored cock ruse.
