By the way, I'm with you on laugh tracks. They're always annoying.

Great show. As a young man I thoroughly enjoy the political banter and tactics on the show.

BTW some of the suits on the show especially on Sir Humphrey look impeccable. Anyone know who made the suits?

A lot of the suits were very nice, especially those worn by Sir Humphrey's predecessor (Sir Arnold?).  But, as you suggested, this was not always the case.  Maybe this is more evident later on in the series, but Sir Humphrey's suits, while nice, were way too small for him.  And I recall the Prime Minister had a double-breasted notch lapel suit, yikes.

I just saw the episode with Hacker wearing a double breasted suit with notch lapels a few days ago biggrin.gif Quite a fashion faux pas!

Are you talking about the show or the decade as a whole?
