Anyone using Wireless Speakers from their computer

Thread Starter
I live in a loft space and do not want to run wires for a stereo system. My choice right now would be to use my Mac and run a wireless speaker system. I would use my external hard drive for my music library. Is anyone else doing this and are you pleased with the results? What speaker system are you using? Would also like to hear feed back on this.

I have a friend who is a lurker here who does this. It seems to work very well. When I'm back home during the week I'll ask him about it.

Yes, you can. I could never get mine to work. Ended up buying a dlink for a third of the price and set up in five minutes.

Certain people in my building have never been able to set up their airports. Theirs appear on network lists complete with factory name and number sequences: "Apple Network 6f9d1d." Perhaps certain iterations are more problematic than others. My Airport was easy to set up securely and hasn't caused any problems. Still, an Airport's a glorified router with an audio cable. Isn't the OP talking about speakers like these?

same here, the funny thing is that lofts have much more metal in their walls than normal houses, and some systems are unable to run there. even some mobile phones are unreachable there, while others work very well. you better try it out ..
