It's my personal phone, but I have mine set up to VPN to our work mail server, and it works pretty well, though sometimes it has trouble with attachments. With the VPN, I can also see our internal web servers.

Other people in the company (mostly the sales force) use it as their work phone and it works well with our MS enterprise server thing. They can sync calendar, mail, and contacts.

When I visit customers, unless I have to bring source code, I don't carry a laptop anymore, just the iPhone.

Mine is my personal phone but I have Outlook e-mail and calendar functions set up so it's seamless for work use. I love mine. I could bitch about the service but I've had service from any number of providers and they all suck to varying degrees. I live in the Baltimore area and I do have one peculiar dead zone on my drive to and from work in a heavily populated area - but I had another peculiar dead zone back when I had Sprint before that. I've never had Verizon, though. I have the 3G and while the new software seems to have really slowed me down, I still think my iPhone is the single greatest tech device I've ever owned. I think others are closing the gap now, and the new Droid looks pretty pimp, but you still can't go wrong with iPhone, I think.

I'm in San Diego and service is solid. 4.5 out of 5. When I was in DC my AT&T w/ a Samsung BlackJack was 5/5.

I am in the process of making my iphone both work and personal. So far its good. Can connect multiple e-mails (3 At the moment) etc. Maybe not the best OS for multiple uses like this, but it will get the job done.

The thread is worthless with out a poll.

Great phone, but the service sucks. I'm in Charlotte, and it's pretty spotty. Have to stand by my balcony door to make a call. Service in NYC is bad as well. Houston and Dallas seem ok, and I haven't had problems in ATL.

AT&T is now selling a device to put in your home to boost the signal. Not sure what happened to more bars more places, but it pisses me off to no end that I have to buy an extra device to get the service I should be getting in the first place.

Yes, but I'm likely to return to Blackberry next time around.

I've only had my iphone 3GS for a few weeks. Initial thoughts are that the service is pretty good. Not great. I haven't had a dropped call, but there have been a few deadzones. I get service underground on the subway now though, so that's good. The web browsing is fantastic, and pages load fast with full bars, etc. Battery life is terrible though. Goes down 8-10% even when I'm not using it. Which is pretty fucking disappointing.

I live in Fresno, CA. I had my iphone for 2 years and its been great to me since. Of course drop calls come often, but it has never bothered me to the point where i wanted a new phone or service provider.

I believe the iphone is the best phone out right now

People make the service out to be terrible. It's not that bad, sure, there are occasionally dropped calls, but the phone is worth it. It is such an amazing machine.
