De-odorizing ties

Thread Starter
I recently went to a party where the majority of people were either smoking cigars or cigarettes, myself included (Montecristo). Unfortunately, I noticed today that my favorite Hermes tie now smells like smoke. Is there any way to de-odorize this tie without ruining the fabric or the shape of the tie? I'd like to stay away from dry cleaning my tie, because I've heard ties lose their sheen after dry-cleaning. Things like Febreze are obviously out of the question as well, but the old trick of using steam from hot water may still work. Will this in any way warp the shape of the tie?

I apologize in advance if this question has already been answered in an earlier post. Thanks for any advice!

IMHO steam should not harm them.

I've found that most items will lose their smoky flavor after a few days if simply left in the open in a place where there's air circulating. One of my closet doors is near the window, so if I need to air out a jacket, I just hang up the jacket on the door, open the window, and wait.
