Where do you buy your coffee?

I'm going to get back into coffee and I need a good source for beans. Unfortunately, roasting my own is not really an option and all we've got down here is Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks. Any good online sources that aren't too expensive and ship out after roasting?

Eight O'Clock Coffee for drip. $11.00 for 38oz. or so at the grocer.

I had to go off and buy a 5 pound bag of Island Vintage Kona Peaberry coffee because the flavor and aroma are beyond anything I've ever had. I simply became spoiled after bringing some back from vacation in Hawaii. But I recommend House of Coffee Beans in Houston for some of the best coffee at a pretty good price.

My wife has her parents mail her Guatemalan coffee; they live in Guatemala. I drink whatever crap I buy on the street-corner.

I think Peet's coffee is the all-around best. We have a lot of them around us but you can buy it on line as well. We get a regular monthly shipment.

Costco: Starbucks French Roast whole bean, 2.5 lbs for $20. Quality coffee and consistently good.

Costco's Kirkland brand roasted by Starbucks is schite. Truly awful brew.

As a gourmet alternative, Costa Rican coffee is good. I have yet to be served one I disliked.

I've had blackcat from intelligentsio and redline from metropolis. Both were made as espresso an both were great. Sweet Marias I buy green coffee from to roast so I don't have a specific recommendation, but I like centrals and east african coffees. All three places will provide high quality coffee.

hmmm. Normally I hit Sam's for the Starbucks French Roast in a big bag, but I will give this a shot.

Speaking of roasting your own, a year or so ago I was glancing through Sweet Maria's for home roasting equipment, and one of the items listed was much like a stovetop popcorn popper. Is that something that can be used outdoor on a propane burner (to avoid the inevitable smoke)? Is it effective?
