Kobayashi broke his own record again today with 53 3/4 hot dogs and buns in 12 minutes.

Joey Chestnut had 52, but the last two or three minutes he REALLY struggled to keep up with Kobayashi... he appeared to throw up in his mouth a little bit on a couple occasions.

I'm sure you really wanted to know.

Can't believe Joey got that close.

For reference, I just saw that great PBS special on hot dogs. It first aired in 1998, and noted that that year's champion set a world record with 19 hot dogs.
Proof that we are still evolving.
