Slim or Baggy fit - Page 3

I think many of us, have our own termination on cuts. Here's mine.

Slim = Levis 559 (Straight from top to bottom, no tapered leg)

Relaxed = Levis 569 (More roomier yet, not big as a Carpenter. Boot cut)

Anything slimer than the 559, and bigger than the 569, is not my cup of tea.

I like regular fitting jeans. If you're gonna err in one direction, err baggy instead of tight. tight jeans on guys is just wrong. They put undue pressure on your twig and berries. And unless you're Bowie, chicks don't dig that. These days, it's better to wear your pants like Usher than David Lee Roth.

Man, yeah, it's just WRONG. GOD, anyone who'd wear tight jeans is a FAG. Personally I wear Abercrombie & Fitch jeans, flip-flops, and shirts that have ironic faux-vintage statements on them because that is what chicks dig.

haha. You wear flip flops with jeans. That's probably even worse than ball-bruisers.

This might sound like an odd question, but how are you guys choosing the length of your jeans? I know this is all personal preference, but what are your techniques? For example, I think it's safe to assume most guys are not "sagging" their jeans at the waist. So you find your true waist measurement and buy the closest size up. But what about inseam? I mean of course it depends on the cut, but how do you choose? I bought some jeans that were 32 instead of the 30 I am used to and since they were narrow at the openings, they actually bunched up ok. I was about to take them to the tailor but now I think I might keep them like this. On the flipside, I have 30" that are baggy too. And some that aren't. Anyway, I'd like to hear some ideas.

i find it comfier to sag a little but as it rests on my hip bone, with a belt.

Lengthwise, I prefer a little long, so that my ankles are still covered while I'm sitting.

I’m not sure where my taste would fall on the Brian Scale but my guess is a 7. I like jeans that don’t taper at all, most my jeans have a 19” or 20” knee that drops all the way down. I don’t think athletic legs look good in tight jeans. As for the length, I prefer about 33”, its enough that it covers my ankles when I sit and drags a little on the floor when I walk.

I wear them slim(to the point of wearing girl's pants, but I'm skinny so they are not ultra tight) to baggy, but not quite hip-hop baggy. Depends on my mood and rotation.

I'm a mix. I like the baggy fit, but now companies are making the baggy fit a little too big for my skinny self. I haven't had much experience with slim fit yet, but my next pair of jean will be Levi's slim fit jeans.

Here's a good scale. I know it depends on the cut and fit but how many inches past your true inseam do you wear? For instance, if you are a 30, do you wear a 32?

I am a true 32, and I wear a 32. My jeans usually hang at my hips, so there is some bunching nevertheless. However, some of my jeans have longer inseams (the New Standards I am right now have about a 34" inseam, and are perfect at the bottom) or are longer than marked (like my Ralphs, for example.) The only jeans which do not really bunch are my Olas and a pair of Corpus Morphy's, both of which have true inseams of about 31"

So for a true 32 pair of jeans, does that mean if you sit and put one leg (ankle) over your knee, your ankle/top of shoes are exposed?

Only my Olas and Morphy's do this, so I usually wear Sk8-His or Chucks (always highcuts) or Nike Blazers with them.
