Looks like I might have to do a psychometric test for a job I am after. Any tips for preperation and doing the thing?

They ask the same stupid questions in different forms to try and trick you into revealing your an unreliable fuck up. Just use common sense.

If it's a personality test, endorse the nice-sounding options -- that's what everyone else taking the test will be doing -- and be genuine on the items that don't seem to have a right or wrong answer. Altough you should be careful not to endorse saintly absurdities ("I've never told a lie"), since those can be used to weed out people who are "faking good." If it's an ability (intelligence) test, well, just do your best.

I was in the same problem and I tried this specific IQ test:

They give a score based on the Wechsler scale where a hundred is the average intelligence. The representative group includes 1000s of folks. Our own IQ certificate with our name and IQ written on it. 7 web pages documents, articles, charts to understand our personal score. Assessment of our individuality, 2nd component to determine our cleverness.. Various types of cleverness are assessed.

Psychometry is bunk. It's a pseudoscience. Personality tests are fucking horseshit and can predict fuck-all about your job performance. Seriously, this shit is perhaps a hair's breadth more sophisticated than a freaking Scientology e-meter reading.
