All I want for Christmas is my old 505's

A few weeks ago I asked here for help in finding jeans which duplicate the old Levi's 505's but in a better quality than Levi makes now. Many suggestions were forthcoming, the foremost of which was R for 45RPM. Elsewhere, I have posted my take on their Jomon jeans. When I went there, I asked the same thing: "I was told you make jeans similar to what 505's used to be before the quality was cheapened."

Jomon is what I was handed. Perhaps if I had not arrived inbetween fitting clients and consequentially dressed head-to-toe in bespoke tailored clothing, they might not have hit me first with the most expensive item in the store and showed me something more akin to my request. As it was, they assumed "rich sucker" and tried to make the most of it. Who can blame them?

Moving on ... needless to say, a button fly isn't the same as a zipper fly. The Jomon denim was heavier, coarser, and due to the wrinkled condition I couldn't really tell much about the cut.

So I'd like to try again with a group of guys I am certain will give the most accurate answers.

I am looking for better quality jeans as close as possible to old 505's as follows:

Traditional jeans stitching
Traditional old-fashioned Levi's blue
Traditional Levi's styled pockets
NOT low rise or mid-low rise. Standard old mid-high rise.
Straight leg or boot cut
Not "relaxed" or "slim"
Denim of about 11-13 oz
Zipper fly
Accurate (33-32 or 34-32) sizing after one or two warm washes and warm dries

Thanks for your help.

I would go with the LVC 505s, I have a pair and they are pretty nice jeans.

LVC 505 would be right on for you then, but they would be a very similar color to the Jomons. Does the color turn you off?

No. The Jomon color was very nice. Any NYC or online shops?

a website like http://www.celga.com or http://www.bid-service.jp can order them for you for a small fee. That is your only way to get them, as there are no North American Denime retailers.

I would advise the Levi's LVC 505s. I *know* you can get those in America. Perhaps try calling the biggest nearby Levi's store? If any city in the US is going to carry them, it's San Fran or NYC. Oh and I forgot to mention, LVC stands for "Levi's Vintage Collection," - the store workers may know what you're talking about there. I asked for "LVC" at the San Fran store and no one understood what i was referring to until I said, "You know, the vintage ones."

the San Francisco Levis store (the flagship) has no idea what is happening with LVC. You're lucky if you can find an employee who knows what LVC is, actually.

In NYC they know what you're talking about if you say "Vintage Collection" but not LVC. Sadly there are no 505 LVC's in NYC. I checked both stores. I know Sugarcane and Samurai makes 505 repros ...

Looking at the Levi's website, they don't have the LVC 505 listed for the US. Googling it, they definitely showed up on a couple rakuten sites though, and I see them on Levi's Japanese site. Is the full LVC line available in the states?

That really sucks. But, hey: There are even top level tailored clothing firms now making things to be sold only in Japan. Also a hand-made shoe company ... but given recent discussions on the Clothing forum I'm not naming any names.

Minya-thanks for the sites. I'll try them. Maybe they can get the LVC's too.

I want a bespoke Kabbaz hoodie, made from that cashmere bourbon drinking fabric. Alex, I believe you have my address - if not please PM me.
