I've listed some new styles & included a list of G&G shoes which are being made at present.

Also take a look at the latest MTO G&G shoes I have just received on behalf of customers. I particularly like the Black Astair's.

So - to US members who have ordered from Bespoke England - did you have to pay anything extra when the shoes arrived at your door? Im close to ordering on a pair, but am wary of getting nailed when they enter the US.

When I got my MTM Charvet done in Paris, I got the same 17.5% discount, and then summarily nailed for pretty much the same (thanks, FedEx) when it got here in the US.

I can only speak of shoes directly sent by G&G to the U.S., not those dispatched by Nick

UPS & Fed Ex always hit me with duties.

But if Royal Mail is used...which is then delivered by the U.S. Post Office...I usually dodge the tax man

What is worse when using Fed Ex & UPS, is that I've paid for priority mail (70 pounds) so I am supposed to get the shoes within 2 days....instead, they get tied up by customs...delayed for over a week...and I get hit with customs

Its simple, Fed Ex & UPS are private carriers who get hit with penalties by U.S. Customs if they fail to declare them.

But the U.S. Post Office is another arm of the U.S. government...thus U.S. Customs is much more lax in not scrutinizing what the U.S. Postal Service imports via Royal Mail. One branch of the government is not going to penalize another branch.

The sage advice....use Royal Mail for delivery to the U.S.

Thanks for explaining Michael. Just to clear things further I have also tried to explain:

I always use Royal Mail for parcels sent to any worldwide detination. Royal Mail is our standard postal service here in England. The parcels get passed on to the standard postal service in the destination country which helps ease parcels through without delays. Usual delivery times are 5 to 7 days long distance (USA, Japan, Australia etc.) and 3 to 5 days to Europe.

Please note that I have 10 years experience of shipping shoes from England all over the world I have found this the best service.

FedEx, UPS and other courriers often require far more detailed paperwork which causes customs to hold the parcels for longer which also results in extra admin costs etc.

Nick.
