+1. Kav was harmless and the imagery in his writing was often entertaining.

They were as much fantasy as his San Francisco ones. Personally, I couldn't stand his ramblings, but I agree with conne that he is probably crazy, and only posted when he had computer time scheduled at the asylum.

Quoted for rarity.

well, I wasn't expecting Everything I read on the internet to be truthful.

..

okay, I'm crushed.

Very true. I even left it up on the screen of my home computer so when I get home it will be the first thing I see when I go to my computer.

Oh wow, OK, I've read the post that got him banned. It definitely shouldn't have gone unpunished, but I'm not sure I'd have banned him. Imo, he was swept up in a bad tide that had been going before him. I think he took it a step further than the others, but he didn't start the fire. Did I miss any good metaphors?

Could be true, but in his defense, he never once attended an SF in SF meet-up.

Yeah, I have this year's tax code (selected highlights) open on the kitchen counter, waiting for me when I get home to continue the review.

Are you saying he was posting from The Blue Room?

Oh come on. Abrasive? Some of the malarchy (on race, religion, etc.) he wrote was offensive and most of us ignored it because we thought he was crazy.

Possibly because he doesn't live there anymore. He lives in Thousand Oaks or Newbury Park, somewhere around there.

I'd like to appeal for clemency for Kav! He's entertaining and not malevolent.

I like this neologism. There's plenty of incredibly offensive race/religion stuff that goes on in the fora; Kav did occasionally make my eyebrows go up but plenty of others are just as bad.

I'd rather be on the side of the "bonarchy." A proper coinage from the Greek would be "kakarchy," the opposite of "evarchy." Or maybe somebody just needs to properly spell "malarky"!

Just wait for edmorel to come along and say that SF already is a kakarchy. J-Lib, I picture you on the side of some sort of Pan-archy or satyr-like mischief- and eroticism-oriented regime.

Will chime in, Com-something means no one any harm. I knew there would be trouble when I read his comment, but think it was a poorly thought out attempt at a free speech comment. This was his mistake, IMO, as we know j is unabashedly a benevolent despot (which is probably as it needs to be).

Suits me...or more correctly, it would have suited me back when I was still youthful and lusty enough to enjoy such carryings on!
