All the bans lately have been for blatant trolling, racist/homophobic comments, and shilling. Just being dumb is not generally bannable, but if it's also devoid of humor for me, it's close.

Can someone explain to me why people ask why they didn't get a warning before a ban? Like I have time to give a warning "now junior, if you keep being a blatant dick I'm going to have to do something about it"... and then keep track of junior's progress. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU--

I don't think a warning or an explanation, and a chance at shaping up, is totally unreasonable, though I can see how it adds to your workload, and I can also see how you might judge some posters as simply not worth it.

But for every person banned thus, there are others who get timed out again and again for the same offense. As soon as their sentence is up, they are at it again straight away. Some of these recidivists certainly deserve a perma-ban at least as much as some of the small time banned. In my opinion, at any rate.

I don't have an answer, just pointing out that it's not so simple.

Yes, let's be done with FNB once and for all.

I liked his avatar. I just don't understand why people still think it's okay to talk that way. Among drunk friends where everyone knows everyone is joking, that's one thing. Not here.

I don't have a clue to whom you are referring.

Franny was never banned or timed out, as I recall. He asked to be "banned" and then changed his mind.

J can correct me but yes, he was put in time out and quite recently, too, maybe a month or two ago? And you'll never guess what for, either...

Well, I missed that, then.

For the record, I don't think he should be banned.

I read bannable as bananable.
