I'm talking more about the declining civility and respect between posters than toilet humor (though we obviously need some boundaries there too). The latter, people can enjoy or avoid. The former is just deleterious to the forum environment, and has to be kept in check more vigilantly.

Keep in mind, I didn't start this forum to give myself the opportunity to boss people around, or be their parent or anything. I started it so people would have a place to talk about clothes. And that's kind of what I'd like to get back to.

What was wrong with the incest thread? It was current news...

This was what you didn't explain. Makes sense, though; my last post wasn't meant to sound as aggressive as it did...

It was a borderline thread. The mods chose to kill it rather than keep it.

What happened to scaramanga? We get to keep the trolls that slam SF on other forums but get rid of the ones that don't?

Wow, I didn't even realize the incest thread I posted got killed until today. My very first thread to die! It was on CNN's front page, so I figured it would be good enough for SF. Please accept my apologies everyone; I only thought it was an amusing sign of the times.

A couple of people who signed up to troll others or just be negative were lost today in a tragic Spaminator accident.

I didn't mind scaramanga, but are we going to have to tell people to stop badmouthing Fedora Lounge as well as AAAC and FNB? Myself, iammatt, and AlanC are regular contributors and it's not as bad as people say it is.

Also manton, Teacher and Tomasso, FWIW. If it makes you feel any better, though, they've been bad mouthing SF at FL, too.

I'm all for inter-forum harmony. I think we all need to hold hands and go buy pocket squares together...

Why are some members allowed to make seemingly unlimited snarky comments without ever being reprimanded? I can think of one in particular who on many occasions is the first to complain (often privately) about the behavior of other members; yet is far more obnoxious in his own conduct. And yes, I am posting this from a secondary username for fear of reprisal.

I haven't seen anyone at FL takes shots at SF. At LL, yes, but that was a long time ago.

It is a judgment call on my part usually - if I felt the remarks were meant in a mean spirit, I'd do something about it. And what fear should you have of "reprisal"?

As for being smack talked on other boards, I have better things to worry about.

Is there a Marcello here? If so I am unaware of him.

I would hardly consider myself a contributor there. I am pretty lukewarm on the place in general and have nothing to contribute.

Well, yeah, but that doesn't stop you here.
