Truly internet drama at its finest.

Is someone writing a history of the douchebag contest? That would be a very significant document for future researchers.

I was middling new to SF at the time and was struck with wonderment. It was like being present at the birth of a star.

At one point the second one got "juiced" and things were looking up for awhile.

I would volunteer to write such a thing, but I will need access to the secret squirrel forum first.

I never realized he didn't show -- that makes it even better. My admittedly unreliable memory was that the brouhaha was around the issue of repaying -- or not -- Kabbaz for the ticket.

Having been at SF for a few years now...I gotta say this is the most drama-heavy fashion forum I've ever been on. TFS at its prime was quite catty, but what else do you expect with a bunch of teen vogue reading, model worshipping prepubescent girls and gay teenage boys. Sufu can be a shark's tank, but the post-2007 Sufu is really just a bunch of random pranks and hijinks and college age young'uns/slackers in their 20s shooting the shit. Styleforum is the only place I've seen where grown men well into the prime of their adulthood embark on feuds, rivalries and grudges that can last for what seems like the better part of a decade, bring it on to other forums/bringing beef from previous forums, and have subtle but absolutely stinging online food fights. This place might have the most chill moderation of them all, but as far as the masses go, SF is about as political and full of intrigue as it gets.

Do you mean this as praise or criticism?
I enjoy the drama because it is harmless and entertaining. If people were taking it seriously and getting upset in real life, I would have a different view.

It's neither praise nor criticism, just an observation after having immersed myself here (albeit not always at 100%) for some time now. Granted, it's hard to gauge whether people are taking it seriously or not, given some of the stuff i've seen (eg. Manton/FNB...if people really weren't "taking it seriously," would there need to be a whole thread on another board dedicated to catty gossip about this subject? Maybe some of us do have too much time on our hands) Granted, I've been thrown in the midst of some odd dramatic scenarios myself as of late, and a lot of times i have trouble distinguishing whether people are just playin around or are really using this place as some sort of strategic battleground, no matter how much in jest. I first came here thinking it was a more civilized alternative to a lot of younger clothing-based forums, but really I don't know man...sometimes this place is a real mind fuck.

I fucking love that about SF. Its not just fashion, but style in all aspects of life.

Everyone needs a bit of fueding, and for me better here than in the real world.

While I'm logged on I might get a little "Ohhhh Noooo He didn't!!", but once I step away from the keyboard, I dont even think of SF.
