I saw that J had posted on there, but is that kind of thing frowned upon? Yeah, I realize that the first post about eBay was not right to do, but the rest of us were making good points, except for my stupid comment about the guy who's a mod on another forum.
On one hand, we were probably making his stuff look bad. On the other hand, we kept it up at the top for like 4 hours, which in the B&S thread is like 6 weeks.
My worthless opinion is pretty much the same as mat's and dopey's. With the exception of the "try ebay" comment, I thought useful information was being posted (and that ospreyguy was being moderately db-y in his comments, but whatever). Comments that clarify issues relating to multiple lines of products within a general corporate structure (DG, Polo, Armani, Isaia, whatever) seem relevant, helpful, and factual -- regardless of whether the seller is trying to be cagy or is just ignorant. So is existing, actual price comparison information.
I'm not the least bit persuaded by EL72's "slippery slope" argument. I think the line between saying "You know, Isaia and Gianluci are actually two separate product lines" and saying "those are fugly, go hawk them to the idiots on ebay" is not hard to discern.
