Actually, in a communist country people would suppress price information so their neighbors would pay the same high prices, just as they did. It's all about equality of misery.

My worthless opinion is pretty much the same as mat's and dopey's. With the exception of the "try ebay" comment, I thought useful information was being posted (and that ospreyguy was being moderately db-y in his comments, but whatever). Comments that clarify issues relating to multiple lines of products within a general corporate structure (DG, Polo, Armani, Isaia, whatever) seem relevant, helpful, and factual -- regardless of whether the seller is trying to be cagy or is just ignorant. So is existing, actual price comparison information.

I'm not the least bit persuaded by EL72's "slippery slope" argument. I think the line between saying "You know, Isaia and Gianluci are actually two separate product lines" and saying "those are fugly, go hawk them to the idiots on ebay" is not hard to discern.

My meaningless opinion is that it should be ok to post a link or other concrete information for comparison purposes. I think the value that adds to the forum as an informational resource is worth any potential consusion/disputes (the possibility of which I recognize).
