The Loake shop in Princes Arcade (between Jermyn Street and Piccadilly) currently has the 1880 collection Cavendish reduced to £129. All sizes available in black and brown. Reason given was that they are changing to a wider last: it's currently on the Duke last in E width. A very handsome split-toe derby for the money.

Do these Langston boots ever go below $300? Thinking about getting a pair but I definitely don't need more shoes so no need to buy right this instant.

With my email'd DealFlyer coupon of 35%, the $499 clocks in at $324 w/Free Shipping. I don't think I've gotten an email code more than 35% except maybe once a year at after-season.

edit: I just checked and I've occasionally gotten 40-50% deals, but they seem to have varying limitations/exclusions.

I'm not going to use my 35% code, if you want it I'm happy to pass it along - PM me.

That's a great site but those seem to be listed at $100 more than the STP ones.

Three things:

1. This is Tricker's official outlet, so it's there all the time, not just for sales

2. I didn't see that; comparing prices it looked like Tricker's outlet were a bit cheaper, although you have to factor in shipping.  Hard to say as they don't have the same boots, but the only more expensive boots were in shell cordovan, not leather.

3. All of the quoted prices include VAT.  If you message them, you can cut one sixth from the listed price if you're outside Europe.

Correct on VAT. They adjust it after purchase.

threedifferent.com has some cheapish Tricker's.
They're listed by euro sizes (e.g. 44) so sizing is a crapshoot.

Also, retricker1829 has always automatically refunded VAT when I've purchased.
Another warning is they've changed couriers to UPS who have a higher customs brokerage fee than DHL.

I know they see more love on the SW&D side, but Tricker's are fantastic. If I hadn't already blown my clothing budget i'd likely snap up a pair of these myself.

I have to agree. Early on in my SF career, I got in on a pair of Tricker "Stow" brogue boots at something like $200'ish from STP. Since that time I've been fortunate enough to acquire a number of much higher end boots: RL Lindricks, C&J Ludlows, EG for RLPL, Sutor, etc. But those Tricker's are developing year after year as nicely as my finer ones. They came in medium brown and, with some darker brown polish over the years, have acquired a really nice broken in patina.

Even with my much finer stable - many of which would do great for casual wear - the Tricker's are my go-to casual boot for fall through spring. There's something about them, the proportions, the build - I can't quite put my finger on it - that makes them perfect for that role.

A lot of early-for-me SF buys were mistakes, my Trickers were 110% total win.
