I ordered a pair of EGs from Edwards on Tuesday and they arrived via DHL today. I was not charged custom fees.

Not that I won't pay my taxes come April! sly.gif

I recently bought a Todd Snyder Flight Parka from an ebay seller only to see it show up oin Gilt today. Lucky me, I got mine NWOT for a bit lower than the Gilt price of $349. But, I have to say, if you're looking for a super light weight, extremely well thought out rain jacket, this is a fantastic version. It pained me to spend $300 on a jacket, but I know this is going to be a go-to jacket for 10+ years.

Don't let the word "parka" fool you - it's a parka design, but made of ramie (linen) with NWR and only 1/4 lined. It's super light, breathable, and layerable - perfect!

Sizing tip: it's slim, you should probably size down. I'm 6'3 tall, 180lbs, and reasonably broad shouldered and a medium fits me perfect. It also has generous arms - I need a solid 35"+ sleeve in shirts to get close to my thumb, this jackets sleeves at about .5" past my wrist.

I hate to sound like a shill, but as someone who was searching for a jacket just like this for a long time, this ended up being one of those rare items that actually exceeded my expectations and I was happy to pay the piper for it.

Here's my recent purchase post and below are some images I snagged off the web for it (that are loads better than the gilt ones): http://www.styleforum.net/t/79083/recent-purchases/11700_100#post_6560347

Hope that helps somebody!

Orlando Last Call at the International Drive North Outlet (Prime?): somebody at Neiman's must have made a mistake because 6 or so Brunello Cucinelli wool/silk/cashmere, 1/4 lined sport coats in staple sizes: 50, 52, 54, 56. There's a grey with rust overcheck and the rest are a mottled blue/grey/brown check sort. All are at $1600 w/30% off today so not a super bargain. There's also a smattering of shirts in "normal" S, M, L sizes (we usually only see the XXL or higher) .

I know that's not a great PSA, but if you're local and a BC nut, it's a rare opportunity to check some out first hand. Other than our BC outlet, that stuff never gets to these parts...

Hope that helps someone!

ps - there's a pair of John Lobb Chambord II boots in black size 9. Again, JL never lands here, so it's a bit of an event in and of itself. Somebody must have mistook the yellow box for gosh-knows-what-else.

One of these days I'm going to run into you guys, was there this morning.

Did you notice JL chanbond II boots in black, going for $720, so about $500 with the 30% discount. It looked to be in great condition:

Good deal if you have been looking for this boot in a UK 9E...

Of course I joined SF right at the end of '09 and I wasn't shopping there until after then. I was never around for the good 'old days, but I do appreciate the barren wasteland that it is when I see posts from other parts of the country that are much better stocked (sigh).

ps - before that mall popped up, the Saks Off-Fifth used to be up the street a ways. One gentleman who works at the new location often reminisces me of the Isaia, Brioni, Zegna, heydays at the previous location "you wouldn't believe the stuff that we used to get!" he tells me as I look down at the endless rows of "Saks Red" suits they now stock. My bank account is better for it, I suppose.

get dem boots. tried on that pair in the london store earlier this year, were asking $1600

I know I'm going to sound like a hater - especially since the closest thing I own to JL altitude is C&J - but I really wasn't impressed with them, and I'm a boot nut (Lindricks, check. Ludlows, check. EG for RLPL, check. etc.). Maybe it's because they were in black but they just weren't calling my $500 clams like so many others would...

Design wise its a very simple boot. And the fit isnt that great around the ankle (not tight after lacing together) either but youll be hard pressed to find a better deal on a boot. They also offered this boot in a brown museum calf which I prefer

No where near my size, and I'm at my limit in black boots. So have at it gents, the only extra pic that might help is the inside markings:

There are a few times that Last Call does 40% off one item, but the sales staff never knows anything about events in the future, so they could not confirm when that would be. If someone is willing to wait (and get lucky) they can be had for $432 + tax. Last JL i saw at this location last year was a Foxton loafers in size 11K (that i should have picked up in retrospect), we don't get the goods often here in Sartorial Wasteland Orlando.

I did however notice that the selection of women's shoes at Last Call are always better. Tom Ford, Chanel, Manolo, Jimmy Choo, you name it...
