Vagden OTC Wool/Nylon/Lycra (60/37/3) in staple colors for $17 for 2 pair from an ebay seller here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271206095005?var=570158017392&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

I'm serious about my socks being OTC so that they stay up, but it's hard to find good quality wool ones especially at a reasonable price. I picked up 3 sets in the usual gray/taupe/navy and just got them today and couldn't be happier. Note that they say they're large for US size 8-11, I'm a 10.5 and they fit me well. Would probably work well for 10-11.5 - smaller sizes would probably find them too big. They don't appear to be seconds.

Not quite as nice as my mainline Pantherella, Falke, or Marcoliani - but close enough to fill in.

Not affiliated with seller, just passing along a [small] score.

What are you thinking of getting there? Thinking if I should make a trip down to TF.

I wish I new how much the TF wallets would be at this private sale. Been meaning to get a TF slim bill fold...

Have you actually received any from this guy? Shipping is a bit steep so I would probably order 3 sets to qualify for free shipping...but if they suck, I'm out 51 bucks and have 6 pairs of crappy socks.

Yes, I only posted after I received them (should have said that). I did the same thing, got 3 sets for free shipping which made it a slam dunk (6 pairs of good wool OTC for $50!). I've worn+washed two pair since I got them too and can say they're handling and holding up as well as my other better pair, so no buyers remorse either.

One minor point - the ones that look like tan (but listed as taupe, I believe) are actually a bit more khaki/taupe than the pic in real life. Id say that the gray is a bit darker than the pic implies too. Worked out fine for me, but just passing it along.
