Funny thing is the Barney's online warehouse sale is a bit of a rip-off. Prices are absolutely the same as they've been over the last couple of weeks except now all sales are final and shipping is only free after $150. You really do need to wait for those last few days of the sale when they layer on those extra discounts.

www.massaboutique.com is looking like a decent Yoox competitor (though much much smaller). Shipping to USA is expensive (!!), but... there are some pretty decent deals to be had, especially b/c they subtract VAT.

Shipping in IT + EU is not bad.

Ben Silver is having a warehouse sale. I just grabbed a couple of ties (made by Drakes), and squares (also Drakes) and a cashmere polo. One drawback is the $16.50 shipping charges. Things were disappearing out of my cart. So the quantities are probably pretty limited.

When you factor in the sale savings, the sliding scale shipping charges are reasonable.

This is true and I went through with my purchase for this very reason. I'm just unaccustomed to paying padded S&H charges in the age of the internet shopper.

If anyone is interested, I am preparing to write my OTR Samuelsohn Spring 13 order later this week and will be offering superb pricing on advanced orders of stock sizes. You will be able to pick the model of your choice and terms are 25% down with the balance due when delivered (January through April). Email me and I will email back the scanned swatches of suits and jackets.

Sid Mashburn sale is up and running. No spectacular discounts. My guy there has already set aside some stuff for me so I'll likely pop in tomorrow and see what the in-store sale looks like. I'll report back.
