Don't brush off the civet poop coffee so quickly...it's a compelling advantage.

I've had it, didn't really taste so different from the normal crap.

I didn't keep a Japanese tourist-style photo of myself in the act, but Josh Byrne was there and can vouch for me.

Wait...you know that you are supposed to drink the coffee bean part of the poop, right?

Moreover, the presence of Josh Byrne nearby is known to remove flavor from any food and drink.

I'm lost, what was not so different, the coffee or the crap

Why have you clowns hijacked Ambrosi's thread?

Don't make me force you to wear multicolored speedos!

It's not hijacking.

This thread is a comfortable, Bohemian café. There's a scurry of productive activity periodically when the newspaper arrives. We read the adverts.

Then, the rest of the day, we shoot the shit and drink the poop cat coffee.

I think Ambrosi will get his cousin Tony from Brooklyn to pay you a visit to show you how it's done in the old country.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Solito/Ambrosi results. Sounds like they're coming along well.

BTW, I wonder what happened to whnay's A&S project....?

I've just scheduled a visit with Salvatore for Saturday 6/27. I am very excited as this is my first foray into the world of bespoke clothing.

I was wondering if I might pick the brains of those that have worked with Ambrosi in the past. Is there a standard set of cloth that is available for their trousers? If so, can those options be viewed online anywhere? I would like to have a look at the possibilities before I arrive at my appointment. That way I might be a little more prepared, and a little less of a burden on the folks there. Also, would it be completely foolish to order bespoke trousers with belt loops? I know that the subject has been mentioned in various threads on this board, but there never seemed to be a clear outcome. Is it completely rediculous to order bespoke trousers with loops? MY last questions is related to turn-around time. Should I be planning for trousers for the autumn, given an initial appointment in June, or will the product be back in time to plan for summer wear?

Is anyone else scheduled to pay them a visit on that day (6/27)? I would be interested to see the process take place with several customers (provided I am not invading anyone's privacy, or personal space).

Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer any information on my questions above.

Viewing cloth online is useless. Wait till you get there, touch the stuff, smell it, rub it on your skin. Then order what you like.

It is not ridiculous to order trousers with belt loops, if you like wearing belts, order loops, if you don't wear belts, don't order loops. It's your money, your pants, forget what anyone else likes.

Ambrosi would best answer when the pants are available given his travel schedule, in terms of the work, I am sure that they will be ready before Autumn.

I may or may not be there on that day, but I would never reveal myself to SFers.

I can't recall all the books Ambrosi carries. It is not as extensive as the selection the Savil Row tailors travel with, but it should be more than adequate for your needs. Everyone is different, but I rarely have a specific cloth in mind. rather, I have a "need" and ask the tailor for help. Ambrosi and Solito know what they carry and they are good at suggesting things you would not have considered, though you will have to know yourself and your taste well enough to decide when to ignore them and when to take a suggestion.

Belt loops are not at all foolish or ridiculous. I have belt loops, side tab and side buttoning trousers from them. The important point is to know what you want and why you want it that way.
