Second this. I scored some nice ties and some shirts. For shirts there was a fair amount of RLBL and RLPL in conservative colors, but they looked like they were going fast. There was a good amount of RLBL sweaters (a lot of cashmere) and outerwear.

Walked away with two RLBL shirts, an RLPL polo and three ties for just above $300 - I was happy.

For the RL sale, does that mean no RLBL suits or Darltons? Darn, might not be worth making the trip this afternoon.

FYI just browsed through Filene's (in downtown DC, on Connecticut) while out getting lunch. Quite a number of Oxxford ($999), HF ($499) and Zegna ($499+) suits in stock.

DC has a Groupon for Astor and Black for the next couple days. 1 Suit, 3 Shirt, 3 Tie package for $700. http://www.groupon.com/deals/astor-and-black-dc Disclaimer: I have never used Astor and Black, and I don't even know if this is a good value; I've just heard them mentioned here a good handful of times so thought it might be of interest. Edit: Oh yeah, these are the guys who took a massive shit on their customers here. See: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=40508. Caveat emptor.

If anyone wants is going to try this, you can go to Groupon through the US Airways portal and earn 8 miles per dollar.

5600 miles is more than 1/5 of a domestic R/T.

For anyone heading to the RL sale: I am really loving my new Hysen Tobacco Oiled Suede drivers. Great deal for $112.

J&M has an additional 40% with shoes40

Might not be bad for a pair of dirty bucks or some summer suede shoes (and if you are in a hurry for an interview shoe or something, 40% off the Hyde Park II captoes isn't terrible for something that is available in all sizes to ship immediately).

How was it all 75%? Isn't the sale only 40%? Was RRL stuff off? I'd like a new pair of denim but I know that the ebay market on those is not where it used to be

Speaking of groupons.... anybody ever heard of these guys?

The only thing I could find on SF is a couple spam-ish posts by them.

Nothing on Ask Andy or Yelp either....

Good catch. On that note, I always check if online retailers are partnered with United, which regrettably holds most of my frequent flier miles. It's surprising how many partnerships they have. I've earned a good chunk of miles from purchases through Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers, for example. https://www.mileageplusshopping.com/...tVisible=false At a glance, potentially of interest to SF, they have Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks, NM, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic/Gap, Charles Tyrwhitt, Lands End, J Crew, Thomas Pink, Indochino, and Yoox in there. I suppose awareness of this sort of thing is a PSA in its own right. Edit: Since Johnston and Murphy was just mentioned, I should note too that you can earn 4.5 United miles per dollar spent there.

I may have to get some suede beater shoes, thank you!

For the record, I have a polo from them that is pretty good quality as well.

Cross posted in Manhattan sales: The Turnbull & Asser sale is worth checking out....shirts range from $25(!) to $200 (sea island), with most around $100. Hundreds of ties for $25-75, including a ton of grenadines (ex navy) and knit. A handful of suits and sportcoats/blazers. Best: a rack of smoking jackets for $500, in colors such as bottle green, claret, orange, red & black. Didn't pull the trigger on one, but did leave with three shirts, a tie & a pocket square for $120.

Or wait, was this 75% RL sale at another store and not at the actual RL stores?
