Was in L.A. over the July 4th weekend. Loehmanns has 2 racks full of Brunello Cucinelli suits and sport coats -- mostly cotton in beige and tan. $699 for suits and $499 for s.c. Also about 4 or so beige suede jackets that are really really nice for $999.

Also, a few Brioni dress shirts for $99

For UK members:

Ede & Ravenscroft's sale started on Thursday. They have all their old-stock shoes down to £75 (generally larger sizes, I think they're made by Cheaney but to a good standard), and Cleverley RTW half price at £175 - nice black and (unlined) brown suede loafers, plus half- and full-brogues. A decent amount of stock at Chancery Lane, some at Leadenhall but nothing at all at Burlington Gardens. Also plain silk PS with handrolled edges £5, and three pack of machine-edged cotton handkerchiefs the same. A nice selection of ties at about £25-35, especially at Leadenhall, and shirts from £25 and upward. Nothing to excite me in terms of sportcoats and suits, but YMMV - they certainly had some basic fabrics / cuts from £195 in limited sizes which is very fair pricing.

$199 for these Alden Plaza last wingtips is pretty smokin' IMO.

^ The eyelets are a deal breaker IMO

I like them. In fact, I purchased the size 7.5 and 8 pair and returned them. The 7.5 had a lot of shop wear, but the 8's were perfect if anyone cares.

I have a bunch of these, and they are REALLY nice. A lot are made in Italy, some in the US and UK. Lots of SF approved styles available - dots, snowflakes, etc, etc, etc.

All sale items at Hickey Freeman are now an additional 25% off. That makes many of the ties $22.50.

How big is the US market for itinerant Saville Row Tailors? Surely the point will come that diminishing returns will apply - these visits are not a panacea to the recession.
