So I shrunk my shrink to fits...

Awhile ago I got this little stock of 1947 Levi's repros. For myself I kept the 30s, which are a little itght in the first place (my hips where I button my jeans is about 31"). So I decided to shrink em, including throwing them in the dryer.

And god DAMN did they shrink.

I love the result, they look great, and as expected lost no noticeable amount of indigo. And the fit is awesome through the thighs and calves, and theyre the right length for what I wanted. But the waist is so tight... so so tight.. I've never seen 501s that look like Dior Homme runway jeans

Waist shrunk maybe 0.75" inches or so. Like I said they were kind of tight to begin with.

Looks good on you. I prefer to wear mine a bit longer. The waist will stretch back out in no time, probably about 1". I love my 47. They fit perfectly all around.

Actually I wanted them even shorter. I wanted a tiny bit of sock showing on my slip-ons, but theres just a little bit of wrinkling.

That's about how mine fit also. I really like the look of tight ass 47s.

They look good. I seem to recall that 501s keep shrinking in length for quite a few washings, so they may become the length you want eventual-

GOOD GOD, MAN, THERE'S A SQUIRREL!

They look terrific! I ought to try to shrink mine too. Mine feel a little snug around the hips unwashed. !luc

They are hang drying right now. The waist was pretty much a true 31" before I washed them. After a single wash, the waist was 29" : I have pulled both end to stretch the soaked denim back to 31". I'll post pictures when it's actually dry. I have tried them wet, and they have massively shrunk from all the "good parts": thighs, length, butt. !luc

I also did this with my LVC 47s and the same thing happened. I prefer the leg length a little longer than mine turned out, but overall I'm happy with the result.
