I'd get the matte display. MBA: light, slow, kind of expensive. If you don't have terribly demanding needs (you check email, surf the web, and use MS Office), then this would be fine, but personally at this point, I'd rather just take my iPhone. MB: cheapest of the 3, not really that much lighter than the MBP, small display, small size. For me, I'd get this if it was mostly a laptop I'd use with a monitor at a desk with occasional light uses when moving around. Personally, I'd either get a slow 15-inch MBP (what I did), which is a good compromise between size and power now, or wait until January and get the Nehalem-based laptops, assuming you need the computing power. I also like big screens, and find 13-inch screens pretty uncomfortable. --Andre
My wife had a macbook until our daughter spilled rice milk in it. I agree that a 13" screen is too small. She loves that size, though, because she like the neatness of one window at a time. If I can wait until January, maybe I will take your advice. It depends on whether my current 17" is dead or just having a really long nap.

If you need a travel computer, save yourself $1k and get a netbook. It'll do everything the Air will do and be practically as light.
ok. Now I'll talk to you. When I
need a laptop, which is five to ten days a month, it is as my sole computer while on the road, i.e., in hotel or conference rooms. I would also use it at home, when I feel like using a computer in the dining room or on the couch or wherever. But I have a desktop at home and we also have some other laptops floating around.
