Also, it feels as though my 2 shots of gin have finally kicked in. Ah, nice. If only I had some tonic.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it. Like I said, my expectations were probably too high. I was hoping for another Kingdom Come, and I didn't feel it delivered at that level. But there's not much that does.

You'll have to let me know what you think once you've finished it.

Haha. According to wikipedia, so was Todd McFarlane. I'm not sure if it's true... but I can see it. Also, feel free to make this thread a general comics discussion thread. The more rampant nerd-ing, the better. I think.

Will do, it will take a while because of work and school. I really want to get soaked into it. Oh, and I'm a bit of a cheater. For a break today I read a few issues of Criminal by Ed Brubaker.

Yeah you can totally see similarities except that McFarlane went over the top with expressions, movements, etc... way more than Tim V. ever did...

McFarlane made it big in the early 1990's - or was it 1989 when he first drew Spiderman in A.S. #298 (?) - first appearance of Venom (cameo) which was only about 5 years after Faust was released and at that time you couldn't find Faust ANYWHERE! I remember being 12 years old and paying older guys at comic book shows to buy it for me because it was illegal to sell to a minor.

I was also really into a short series "From The Darkness" and "FTD2: Bloodvows" at the time... probably because all the women were naked vampires....Jim Balent drew both series before he started working for DC.
