Zippo users: How often do you have to service it? - Page 2

By the way, if you're having any problems with your zippo, they have a brilliant policy where you can return it to the factory free of charge through any dealer and it'll come back to you perfectly reconditioned. I've had mine come back with an entirely new mechanism before, and it was shafted when it went in. Totally free. Must be all that cheap labour they're employing. If you can bear to part with it for a few weeks, it's probably the way to go.

Zippo makes one, actually. http://www.zippoblu.com/

It's a little bulkier than a normal Zippo. I got on the Marlboro mailing list and they sent me one for free. They'll send you all kinds of free stuff if you're willing to kill yourself with their product, which I am more than willing to do.

Before you buy an Xtend blue flame torch, know that Zippo makes one now. Plus a company called Z Plus has a blue flame torch insert for your Zippo case for $10. It works better than my Prometheus torch (PoS)!

I've been back on a smoking stint lately, and brought the old Zippo back into service.

I also realized mine is eating fluid faster than it used to. I think it is leaking or getting an air gap from the bottom of the casing to the top, and it's evaporating.

Ugh, their design department needs serious help. Those case designs are awful.

Yeah, I agree. They don't fit in your 5th pocket nearly as well as a traditional zippo, either.

This looks kind of cool, though:

Hahaha hell yeah we used to practice in undergrad. We had many uncool lighter fumbling moments but that guy has sick skills. He'd be a good closeup magician. That also pulls women.

In that case, it might not be a bad investment

You can buy one of these:
http://www.elighters.com/zplus.html

It's a butane insert that fits into a regular zippo case.
