Thoughts on Convertible Cuffs? - Page 2

I agree they would not look right for business dress shirt. A traditional folded back french cuff gives the edge of the cuff some stiffness whereas the convertible cuff worn in a kissing style will be kind of flimsy. The corners are bound to get bent. Having said that, I like them for casual shirts. Today I'm wearing a grey gingham with convertible cuffs and cotton blazer. My office is too casual for a OCBD but this is a way for me to rock some fun links. My MTM orders for casuals, I usually opt for convertible.

for what ever reason, I have a negative reaction to them.

I will buck the trend.

I would absolutely get convertible single cuffs , so long as the button is invisible in cufflink mode.

Single cuffs are, for some reason, quite rare now. But they are perfectly correct and look quite very good. If you're having shirts made, you really should get one done with single cuffs, even if it's not convertible. They are almost non-existent RTW, so having them made is really the only way to get them.

I love the look of single cuffs... just less fussy looking than a double cuff. ironically, isn't a single cuff actually more formal? the shirts i get with tux rentals always come with single cuffs, not french/double.

i personally likethe convertible cuff, it is functional, and stylish, and light weight.  nice to to have extra shirts in your closet.

you can wear it as a sport shirt (button),and add the cuff at your convenience for a more dressy look.

that's the great part of custom,  you can create your own style. and wear to your preference.

enjoy your shirt and your day!
