the guy who was 26 works in my buddy's office. he was suppose to be in very good shape.

^^ jeez. Only 26, finished the half in under 2 hours, and died afterward.

Guess I need to schedule the cardiologist visit, then.

Woah, thats scary, considering I ran mine with very little training. But I guess the difference was I didn't exert that much at all

It's certainly a good idea to see a cardiologist first, and maybe marathon should require proof of a recent physical examination, but it's possible for someone to be examined by a specialist without having heart problems discovered. Every year, some college athletes die from heart ailments. Looking and feeling healthy don't rule out problems.

Naw, there's an inherent risk to everything in life. You are more likely to have an infarct while munching on a McRib sandwich at McDonalds than while running a marathon.
