Coincidentally i was looking at the thompson tote at the store yesretday but they were out of the stock. the messenger you are referring to is quiet nice and the price is reasonable. go for it...

It's a terrific, non-pretentous, and will match with any outfit. Go purchase it brother.

I'm actually in agreement with the above. I generally hate Coach, but it's a simple, no nonsense bag and $328 isn't a bad price. The ~$300 retail range is pretty tough to find decent stuff, for the most part. Less than that gets you plasticky garbage and really you have to jump up to $500 or more to start getting into top-tier territory. A brand named Latico is another at a lower price point ($150-250) that might work for you, as well. They tend to be about like Coach quality wise, though don't have the mark-up for brand.

Actually, not too bad.

Coach men's stuff is actually the opposite of their women's bags: low-key and no flashy logo (or the logo is present as a small stamp, nothing more). Well-made and reasonable for the price.
