How is it "different" to write a place off as garbage for destroying Italian food? It's the truth; I've eaten there before. Maybe my standards are a bit higher because I'm Italian, but I don't think anyone should be setting their standards low enough to consider this decent / worth the price.

The carbonara description was simply to showcase just how wrong things are at that place.

Just got back from taking my mother. She was very excited at the prospect of saving $10 so that was a good start. We ordered the chicken parm and fruiti di mare. Both were unspectacular but decent. Not too much breading on the parm and it wasn't drenched in sauce. The fruiti was 10lbs of linguine and was a bit short on seafood for all that. Sauce was on the thin side and lacked a definitive flavor. Overall, I'd give it a B- and a C- without the coupon as its a bit pricey with those jumbo servings for two people. I can see the appeal for big groups and families.

Why is that? Is it b/c the food becomes generic and tasteless? That is my guess. There are several chain restaurants in SoCal (Pho shops) that are actually good.

I wouldn't take my wife there for a romantic night of high cuisine, but it's a fun place to bring the kids and extended family.
