The original books were scanned into a computer and all the cassette tapes were converted to MP3. I just want to clear up any confusion. EDIT: If you're interested please send me an email. I've gotten a lot of responses and it is getting a little tough to keep track of peoples orders/questions through PM. Plus, I can respond to your email within 10-20 minutes and it might take me a half day to do it over PM. Thanks!! My email: Jfeess@gmail.com I have a few copies the French Language Training Course bundle that was created by the U.S. State Department and the Foreign Service Institute. These are the same language programs used to train US Diplomats, Foreign Service Officers, CIA agents and other personnel of the US Government. These language systems have been around since the 60's-70's but still remain one of the most respected methods of language learning. My uncle teaches French at a University and he gave me a bunch of these DVDs. He said that these are some of the best/most comprehensive language learning systems ever developed... if the student sits down and commits themselves. The foreign language department created all these DVDs for their students who wanted more practice. The department recently posted all the files up on their network so they no longer have any need for the DVDs. They were just going to throw them out so I asked if I could take them. 90% of the DVDs were never used and I inspect each one to make sure there are no scratches. This DVD includes: • French Basic Course (Main Course) The French Basic course is the main language training course. It was originally developed by the US Government to train its personnel who operated overseas. The original text has been scanned into PDF form and the original cassettes have been converted into MP3 audio. It is considered to be one of the most comprehensive and most effective language learning methods. All the voices on the recording are of native-born French speakers, and the lessons are designed to help enable students to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations. ⁃ Volume 1: Lesson 1-12 - Includes 410 page instructional text and nearly 40 hours of accompanying audio (MP3). ⁃ Volume 2: Lessons 13-24 - Includes 575 page instructional text over 40 hours of accompanying audio (MP3). Each lesson consists of: Dialogue Useful words Vocabulary awareness French Language Drills (Lexical drills, Learning drills, Practice drills, French Question Drills, Answer Drills, & Review drills) Written exercises • Metropolitan French FAST Course - This is a condensed version of the French Basic Course. It focuses on all the major aspects of getting around in a French speaking city. ⁃ Units 1- 40: Includes 625 page instructional text and over 5 hours of audio. • Introduction to French Phonology - You'll learn how to correctly speak like a native. ⁃ 10 chapters broken up into 20 sections - Includes 410 page instructional text and around 10 hours of audio lessons (MP3). ⁃ Instructors Manual - 131 pages instructional text that accompanies the French Phonology lessons. Please note that there are no textbooks included. The original text book has been converted to a PDF and the accompanying audio is in MP3 format. All documents are either non-copyrighted, public domain, declassified or non-classified US Government documents. $10 Shipped. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll respond quickest to emails. German in two volumes, German Basic Course, has been designed to help students reach a level of proficiency which will enable them to participate effectively in most formal and informal conversations. The ultimate goal of the course is to speak accurately, fluently and easily. The text provides for the assimilation of all basic forms and patterns of the language by the guided imitation, memorization and manipulation of a large number of sentences and by practice in confronting several widely occurring everyday situations. German Programmed Introduction Course 661 pages with full audio. $10 FSI Chinese $10 shipped This is a course in Mandarin Chinese, made by the Foreign Service Institute for the US Government. The course focuses on speaking and understanding Mandarin, and is comprised of a series of units broken up into separate modules. Each module (except #9) has accompanying textbook and workbook pages that should be used to follow along with the lessons. There are no characters: reading and writing Chinese will have to be learnt elsewhere. A description of the course from the site: "This course is designed to give a practical command of spoken Standard Chinese. Nine situational modules form the core of the course. Each core module consists of tapes, a student textbook, and a workbook. In addition to the core modules, there is a resource module and eight optional modules. Here is the outline of the course. The outline shows some modules that were never developed: there is no text for Module 9, there is no optional module for Institutions and Organizations, and there is no Module 10."
