I saw the next-gen X5 mule last week, and have seen the E60 M5 and E46 M3 mules among others in the past. --Andre
They are all rare. Plus, at ½ a mil each… Jon.

I stand corrected. Remove the "new" from my above post.

Wow... the only interesting thing I had seen was a Carrera GT that came up behind me while on I10. That thing has some serious width to it.

Personally I think these things should be driven much like those million dollar watches that people likely don't wear.

Actually, some classics do need to be driven occasionally, otherwise seals can dry out and crack, which leads to nasty leaks.

alfa's are pretty, but really are built like shit. i've got a saturday job at avis (i'm a mature student) and we had a load of 156's on fleet a bit ago (2.0 jts) and though they're good fun to drive they get baggy very quickly.

anyway, recently (last 6 months or so) i've seen carrera GT (demonstrator for a local ish garage), murcielago and gallardo (wanker premiership footballers probably), my first sight of a 612 (i love them), and a countache (i don't think it was a replica). picked up a little avis rentacar from an aston dealership today and they had a shit load of vantage's out back - smaller than i thought, but nicer for it imo. oh, and a couple of phantoms.

As I'm a little too rural for supercars, I never get to add to these "I saw" threads. Until today. Somewhat bleary-eyed on my way to class on the expressway I caught a V-12 badge on the side of a Mercedes that was passing me. It was an SL65 AMG. Being a V-12 geek, I thought it was very hardcore. I don't know how common they are compared with Ferraris and the like, but I was pretty impressed, and somewhat depressed. I'm not sure I can really conceive of that much torque. Regards, Huntsman

Alfa's look nice, but they're not very well built. Don't expect something like Audi or BMW, but more something along the lines of FIAT.

I agree completely, but this is ok. Having Alfa's driving around instead of the new Chevy Malibu or whatever would be fantastic.

I see CL / SL / S 65's every couple of days. Honestly, for that amount of money, you are better off buying a Bentley. And, I guess I'm not the only one that agrees because I see a lot more Bentleys than the high-end AMG Mercedes models.

Actually, I think the Mercedes is the better car. Not the Bentley.

I'm not talking about quality I'm talking about prestige. Why else would someone (um, 99% of the population who isn't car crazy) buy an S-class for $180K that looks to everyone else like a $100K S-class? Whereas the Bentley says $190K, and means it.

Sheesh. It's another world in Boca, eh? IF, (big freaking if) I was talking that kind of money it would probably be the Benz or I'd start thinking Aston. Then I'd probably chuck it all, buy something enormously fuel-efficient AND a Lotus.

Oh, I should say that I did see a ContiGT a year or so ago. The the nearest big city rag had a review of it a few weeks later, so I think he had the test model out my way for a quiet spin. Definitely noticeable, but that was about it for me.

I went out today to get gas and picked-up some lunch, I saw: a Bentley Flying Spur and an Aston Martin DB7 convertible, all within 30 seconds of each other.

I live in fantasyland.
