o and just while we're on the topic of Prince and Jimi, here's a cool little anecdote i heard on the radio a while ago:
"In a radio interview, Buddy Guy, one of America's greatest living blues guitarists, told a story about the son he sired but didn't raise. As the boy grew into young manhood, Buddy sought him out, hoping they could become closer. His son had also become a guitarist, but he was so full of bitterness at Buddy's absence that he wanted nothing to do with him or his brand of music. He had his own, more contemporary, rock star idols, most notably the singer formerly known as Prince. When the young man anonymously sought a teacher who could help him in his quest to emulate his idol, he was told that if he wanted to sound like Prince, he needed to understand how to play guitar like Jimi Hendrix, the musician Prince had sought to emulate. And in order to understand Jimi Hendrix, the teacher said, he needed to learn about Hendrix's biggest musical influence, the guitarist Buddy Guy."

It was cooler hearing it from Buddy Guy's lips, but still an interesting little tidbit!

They all have one thing in common: they can all SING, DANCE, and ACT. Entertainers in the truest sense of the word.

But what about, Hugh Jackman?

O man definitely do. I'll recommend you some stuff:
He released 3 albums with The Jimi Hendrix Experience:
"Are You Experienced?" (1967)
highlights are Foxy Lady, Hey Joe, and Purple Haze, Red House, Fire, The Wind Cries Mary

"Axis - Bold as Love" (1967)
Wait Until Tomorrow, Little Wing, Castles Made of Sand, Bold As Love

"Electric Ladyland" (1968)
Crosstown Traffic, Long Hot Summer Night, Burning of the Midnight Lamp, 1983..., All Along the Watchtower (my favourite)

And a live album with the Band of Gypsys, which has an awesome version of Machine Gun.

I usually don't recommend compilation albums, but in this case "Experience Hendrix: The Best of Jimi Hendrix" is a pretty good introduction.

haha i could go on and on...

I really can't believe that James Brown only made one post in this thread. That's crazy. The man was the greatest entertainer of the 60's and 70's.
