Though I'm not much of a costume person and I don't have kids yet and don't have to force myself into costuming, if I were to attend some costume event, I would consider dressing up in a two sizes too big true dress shirt (you know with long tails) with my undershirt showing, over-sized stone washed jeans, my actual running shoes that I use for running, and calling myself, the typical "casually well-dressed" man.
