The waste is that an inherently beautiful leather is made ugly and no amount of craftsmanship can make it better.

The unspoken tragedy is that a true craftsman would have known that.

I actually tried these on but balked at the price (2k). My reputation as a spendthrift took a hit that day.shog[1].gif

Here is one pair of mine.   I honestly don't know how to tell the difference between Crocodile and Alligator.

These are vintage Johnston Murphy Aristocraft.  I am guessing they are from the late 60's based on the Aristocraft label.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.  I know these don't go with my socks and pants, I brought them to work and put them on for the pics.

Nobleprofessor, may just be the photos but your pair looks somewhat dry. The best gunk for exotic leather is Bick4: cheap, effective, non-marking, non-greasy, with some nice penetration.

Thank you for the heads up. I probably do need to give these shoes some love. They are older than I am. I'll get some of the stuff you suggested.

Here is another pair of mine:

I probably need to condition/polish these.

Bragano Made in Italy

Woven Calf and Alligator/Crocodile

They are just a little too big for me.  In many styles I wear a narrow width. These are 11.5D.  I have only worn then once. I should sell them, but I like them so much, I have a hard time selling them.
