Chips: Way to go man, these pictures show some serious determination and effort. Most people who were at your previous weight can only dream of achieving what you have so far.

Thanks. Plenty of motivation if you know what I mean.

The one thing that I really liked about a no carb diet is that ( for me ) if you can make it past the third day, your food cravings and appetite in general disappear completely. I had a ton of carne asada left over from my b-day party, so I had plenty of tasty protein to start things off with.

About once every 8 weeks, I take a day off.

Alot of people read the same thing and a lot of people are overweight! I don't buy the 5 meals a day. The road back isn't supposed to be easy.

My experience is different and I think eating 3 meals a day is better.

Oh yeah... look at Asia. 3 meals per day. Carb heavy. Very little fat people. Go to Singapore where western style foods and diets are 'in'. You see lot's of fat people.

Don't be parrots and get the results.

Sorry for projecting my views.

They aren't eating McDonald's, are they? And they tend to drive less and walk quite a bit more. It's not an issue that can be singled out to one factor, but it's a combination of factors which determines how a person looks / feels. Also, Asians naturally tend to be thinner human beings than their European-decent counterparts.

Comparing diets with a third world Asian country is ridiculous. The people are skinny because they don't have enough to eat and burn more calories than they consume. They may eat three meals a day but that meal might consist of a bowl of rice, a handful of vegetables and a little bit of meat. 300-400 calories max. That's less than 1500 calories per day. Regardless of how much carbs they consume, they are eating at a deficit.

I used to think that genetics plays a significant role in your weight, but the abundance of fat Asian kids in America proves that theory wrong.

If you find it easier to eat three 500-calorie meals a day and feel satisfied, then eat three meals a day. If you find it easier to eat five 300-calorie meals a day and feel satisfied, then eat five. Hell, you can eat two 750-calorie meals, or ten 150-calorie meals, if that works for you. It's not that complicated. But I do think that a lot of guys today jump onto the "eat more often" bandwagon and lose track of just how much they're eating over the course of the day -- and buy into the "eat more and your metabolism will magically rev up" BS, and end up getting fatter still.

I'm not being an asshole to guys with slimmer frames, but lets call a spade a spade and if your
6'3" and 155lbs your really scrawny and probably look like a perfectly healthy prepubescent boy with your shirt off.

To all you people who complain why they can't lose weight IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T LISTEN TO PEOPLE THAT KNOW HOW TO DO IT!

Is Asia third world now? I am asian, I live in Asia now and I am far from a third world citizen. It's because we are not parrots and we know what works.

Oh yeah... maybe it's because we are not scoffing down snacks and high calorie nuts and fruits. Get it in your heads:

If caloric intake > energy used, you get fat (most of the people)
If caloric intake < energy used, you lose weight (rare)

You use food and exercise to counter balance based on what you are trying to achieve. In the First World... most people are the first scenario and try to eat 5 times a day... setting them selves up for failure.

Some people are pathetic.

no shortage of fat Asian kids in Asia either. In "Third World" Vietnam - where nationwide something like a third of kids are malnourished, in the two main cities, something like a third of kids are obese. Lots of reasons for it - a 'my kid wont go through what i went through' mentality is one. Lack of parks etc for kids to play in is another. A 'if he's fat, i'm prosperous' mentality among parents. A naive belief that forcefeeding a kid rice will overcome any ailment imaginable. The fact that the food is so carb heavy (rice and noodle based) yet the city lifestyles are so sedentary...lots of reasons.
