Hi..
I am prefering the Reebok...

Any recommendations for shoes with a lot padding in the front? (ball of foot) I've developed a bone spur (or something in metatarsal area). I'm afraid if I go to a running specialty store they'll recommend the ugliest and most expensive shoe they have in stock. I'm not a serious runner, just looking for something to minimize further damage. Normally wear adidas size 14.

New Balance, though this thread has given me some ideas

Asics all the way.

I have a pair of Brooks in the office and a pair of Asics at home (in case I get the urge to run in mornings / at weekends). Noticed that Brooks are starting to give me grief at the big toe "knuckle" though so might invest in a new pair and revert to Asics all the way.

Asics or New Balance for longer runs (8 miles or more) and Nike free for shorter runs and sprints.

New Balance 812s. They're trail runners but I prefer them to regular runners. The "made in USA" label is a plus for me, but that doesn't mean they're better than made in China runners.

Asics Gel Kayano 16 when I actually run.

Saucony Grid Hurricane - have been going through different versions over the last 10 years.

For trails, a pair of New Balance MT 909. Street, Nike LunarGlide+. Racing, some Asics flats. Plus maybe about a dozen others that get limited action.

After years of adidas supernova classic... I'm giving Asics another shot. Namely the 2040 and the DS-Trainer (which I'm finding on clearance....that helps matters a bit).
