The fit, however, is excellent, a testament to Patrick's eye and skill. Still, go to a shirtmaker rather than a tailor for shirts. Ascot Chang are still the best in HK.

I know a few tailors, MTM places around town; granted they may not be as well known as Ascot Chang or WW Chan or some of the others but IMO the workmanship is just as good. Most seem to carry a very large array of fabrics and are quite accomodating. Many of them travel to the US & UK frequently.

I never want to put up names just in case they arent as good or some people might think I am affiliated with them or try to tout a service. Just sharing my experience. A lot of the times with these things its all about trial and error. I must admit some of the prices you guys are paying are very good.

haresh, please feel free to share your experiences. I'll be in HK a few times in the next couple months and wouldn't mind visiting some other shops.

I know of a shirtmaker that will be happy to take your order and actually deliver said shirts within three weeks.

Jovan's mystery man is Baron Boutique, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm still going to hit Carl for my $40-$600 shirts--can I schedule a March appointment now? I only hope that A Kabbaz still has some eyesight left if I'm ever in a position to go more than that

Unfortunately, not everyone lives in NYC

My post was a jibe at odereater who has bought shirts from me.

I guess he could get two or three shirts from jantzen for one of mine. That is if he got himself back on the good list at Jantzen.

How long does it take to get fitted by you? Just 1 day - i.e. could a week in NYC be enough to get some shirts made?

Haha. As soon as I get my weight to where I want it to be I'll be back. 'til then, I need something cheap.

By the way, I only order Jantzen shirts at 3:00 AM when I'm in a drunken stupor.

Here's an update on the timing. I placed an order back on March 27 and just got a confirmation email today that they found the order and will be getting to it asap. So it looks like they're running about two months right now on their backlog assuming my order wasn't misplaced to begin with.
