Hey, anybody ever been an appraiser in an insurance appraisal?
If you are insurance knowledgeable, you'll know what I'm talking about.
This a sort of adversarial procedure where one appraiser represents the insured, another appraiser represents the insurance company and there is a neutral umpire.
I am not an insurance person. I do have pretty good Real Estate experience and enough legal knowledge to get in trouble.
My friend is a major public adjuster and asked me to do it. It involves a sizeable loss with a big gulf between what has been offered and what the insured feels is merited to make him whole.
Has anyone here ever been an appraiser or umpire in one of these procedures?
