Looks interesting. Maybe it takes a horror movie to get Scorsese out of his own ass.

Leonardo DiCaprio is apparently his go-to Irish Bostonian.

Is Leonardo supposed to be the #67 or something? This has M. Night Shamalalanyanan written all over it.

This.

I enjoyed the book, but the trailer left me rather nonplussed. Not to mention it was one of those trailers — that seem all to common now — that essentially condenses the entire narrative of the film, from start to near-end, into two minutes. Trailer ≠ summary; or at least it shouldn't.

Looks awesome -- moody and creepy. Besides, Scorcese and DiCaprio have a very good track record together (save for Gangs of New York). My one concern is that the release date was pushed back several months, which is usually a bad sign.

Seriously, dont watch the trailer. So tired of these trailers that give away all the plot.

Why bring Coppola? I just think that all of Scorsese latest movies were mediocre and that anyone who thinks otherwise should shut up.

The Aviator was above average (maybe just average by Scorcese standards), but you'd be hard-pressed to find many critics who don't think that The Departed is in his top 5 films.

Or maybe I should just shut up, eh?

You should, I'm sure you could find critics that agree with you but propping up the dead for past glories is what academical art is all about.

I mean even bringing out the dead was better than the departed and I sorta liked the departed (and really like bringing out the dead).

Taxi driver, raging bull, last temptation of christ, mean streets, goodfellas. That's already five movies you can't really argue against. Anyway, it doesn't matter, the point is that Scorsese sorta lost it but he's at an age where most retire and he still makes some decent movies so props to him.

Looks cool. Cape Fear was a bit brutal to me so I know Scorsese can do the genre well.
