And to add to the SoCal list: waking up on a January weekend morning and having to decide, "Do I want to go snowboarding today, or do I want to sunbathe on the beach?" Then deciding to just do both.
And a big +1 on the sea for both NorCal and SoCal (no +1 on "the beach" for NorCal, though).

On the other hand, from the Philly perspective: I can't believe you all live without easy access to NYC despite not actually having to live there. Also, for the Californians and basically all Americans not from the Northeast: I can't believe you (we, formerly) live without actual public transportation.
