This thread makes no sense. I can't tell from the photo but if that tree was chewed by a beaver it may have stood like that for many years.

Considering that there are still wood chips in the grass, I'd say that the tree hasn't been like that for long.

Look you ignoramusous. That's a special corset-trunked tree. Ignore the chips - that tree is bred to had a very thin waist which facilitates an easier time for the lumberjacks. Genetic engineerings at its finest. waist-supporession for the win.

Wrong dawg! Why would you expect the chips to move anyway? Look at their colour - dark, wet, rotten. Not bright light brown and dry. So I expect they've been there for weeks if not months.
