Are you in a hurry? What does furniture mean to you? Is it stuff you buy so that you have some where to sit when you come home from work? Or would you like to collect treasured pieces? You can often find authentic Eames chairs on CL for around $500 if you're willing to wait. Back when I scoured Craigslist, I had come across a few within a year in Columbus Ohio. Personally, I prefer a more eclectic look with pieces from different time periods, some new, some vintage, things found during travels, etc. Purchasing matching sets from DWR is not my taste. I actually picked up an incredibly comfortable (and mint when I purchased it) vintage Barca Lounger for $60 off Craigslist 
Of course, Barca doesn't sound very appealing, but the design is akin to the 50's modern look, not the Lazy Boy looking things they have had recently. Also the build quality is phenomenal.
